What is a Blister Pack Service?

A blister pack service is for all dispensing patients who are on three or more types of daily tablets. Your GP will decide if this service is appropriate for you and will refer you to our pharmacy for a supply. Your normal daily medications will come in weekly blister packs to help you organise your tablets. Therefore, it’s easier for you, or your carer, to make sure you are taking your tablets as prescribed. It’s easier to spot a missed day or if multiple daily dosages have been taken on a single day.

You can collect your weekly blister pack from the pharmacy or have it delivered using our prescriptions delivery service.

What does a Weekly Blister Pack look like?

Each weekly blister pack is divided into the seven days of the week along one side. Then, across the top are the times of the day for taking your medication. Each “blister” contains one or more tablets that need to be taken on that day and at that time.

So, weekly blister makes make a great at-a-glance visual aid for whether you’ve taken your tablets yet.
